As a dog lover, most things you want to do aren’t quite the same if you can’t take your pooch with you. This means that you will need to plan any activity or trip ahead of time. Certain cities in the U.S. are more dog-friendly than others, and there are many places that welcome dogs. There are often places that are more dog-friendly than you think. 

Casinos

Did you know that you can take your dog on a trip to Las Vegas? At dog-friendly hotel and casino complexes, your dog will be very comfortable. You will need to keep it on a leash in the communal areas but there are usually designated pet-friendly areas where you can take them. You may have to pay a pet-cleaning fee but this is worthwhile for being able to have your dog with you. In-room amenities usually include a mat, food, and water dishes, and disposable waste bags.

Gondola Rides

Dogs are allowed to ride in a gondola across the Royal Gorge in Colorado. You can walk the bridge first and then ride the gondola back. Telluride, Colorado also has a gondola that allows dogs. More than two million people go on this gondola ride every year. It goes from downtime Telluride up to the San Sophia Ridge and on to Mountain Village. A one-way trip takes about 15 minutes. 

Hikes

Taking your dog with you on a hike is possible in many places in the U.S. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan is one of these places. The lakeshore runs along the eastern coastline of Lake Michigan for miles. If your dog has a lot of energy, you can tackle the Sleeping Bear Dune climb.
